Target offers a wide range of teacher training services, including:

FTBE: Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English

  • Target provides preparation and examination for the Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English (LCCIEB FTBE).
  • This qualification is one of the only internationally recognised British qualifications for teaching Business English. It is an extremely valuable qualification for teachers who are or would like to be involved in teaching English for Business.

Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test –TKT : Preparation course

The TKT has three core modules. These can be taken together in one exam session or separately, in any order, over three sessions.
  • Module 1 - Language and background to language learning and teaching
  • Module 2 - Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching
  • Module 3 - Managing the teaching and learning process

An intermediate level of English is required, as the course is taught in English.

CELTA

  • CELTA is the best known and most widely taken initial 'TESOL/TEFL' qualification of its kind in the world for teaching English to adults.
  • Candidates for this course should have a near native speaker level of English or the CPE (Cambridge Proficiency Exam).
  • Target Language Services’ co-founder is a CELTA main course tutor, qualified to teach and evaluate the programme.

Teacher Training Services for Language Schools

  • Target Language Services has on staff a team of four very experienced Cambridge qualified teacher trainers.
  • Target can provide qualified coaches for teacher development to language schools who wish to provide their staff with new skills and increased effectiveness in language teaching.

Induction training programmes

  • Especially for schools taking on new teachers
  • Target offers training to new recruits to ensure they have the necessary teaching skills to meet student needs
  • Target can also train on teaching and school philosophy as well as teaching beliefs
  • Target will suggest and work with you to create an appropriate programme based on the approaches, methods and beliefs of your school.
  • On request, Target can provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the trainee teachers.

Individual Work shops

  • Target has a series of practical workshops for teachers to offer, based on typical school needs and interests
  • Target can also design and give workshops or talks tailor-made for your institution

Observations followed by Appraisals, Tutorials and Training Sessions

  • For schools which need to improve the standard of teaching in general or that of a selected group of teachers
  • Target provides a service of teacher observation, coaching and training over a set period of time, and provides school with a comprehensive report on issues, progress, and action necessary
