IELTS: International English Language Testing System

The ideal test if you need to study or work where English is the language of communication.

Why IELTS?

IELTS scores are recognised by:

  • universities and colleges
  • employers
  • immigration authorities
  • professional bodies.

Over 3800 educational institutions, government agencies and professional organisations across 120 countries around the world recognise IELTS scores as a trusted and valid indicator of ability to communicate in English.

What is IELTS?

IELTS is for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. It measures the ability to communicate in English across all four language skills:

  • listening
  • reading
  • writing
  • speaking

IELTS with Target Language:

At Target Language you can prepare for the IELTS exam in group or individual classes at your company or at our school.

IELTS Study Aims

To get the best possible score in the IELTS in the shortest possible time, a three-tier approach to training is recommended.

1. Classes with teacher: Focus on developing grammar, vocabulary, and structures needed for the written tasks and speaking for the test. Listening and reading is done as part of a homework package.
2. Reading: Past exam papers as well as listening material with answers and tape scripts are provided electronically, and free of charge.
3. Writing: Writing tasks are completed outside of class. A Target Language qualified IELTS examiner will then indicate text-related problems for self-correction and in-class follow-up.

Getting started

  • Written English Evaluation: A 20-minute writing task is given electronically, and a Target Language IELTS examiner will return the task corrected with an IELTS score.

  • Verbal English Evaluation: A short spoken interview is given face-to-face at Target Language’s offices, and you will be able to speak with an IELTS examiner.
  • Recommendation: Target Language reviews your needs, and provides you with a recommended study program.
